Dear Friends:
Some of you who are pondering the title of this blog, The Blessing of Uncertainty, will think that the idea of uncertainty being a blessing is absurd. Some of you will think I have lost my mind, especially in the middle of a pandemic that has created one of the most uncertain, scary, and frustrating times we have ever experienced! But I am here to tell you that I have learned a way of dealing with life–the good, the bad, and all the uncertainties that all of us face–in a way that has revolutionized my life and the lives of many of my clients as we are all forced to live through and try to deal with this unprecedented issue.
COVID-19 has drastically increased the stresses we were already facing in our everyday lives. Learning the principles that will be presented in this blog will be harder because of the increased stress but I propose this to you: Make it a habit to challenge the way you look at, process, and interact with uncertainty and stress during these times through the materials we will be exploring and see if you have more peace and calmness than you have been experiencing so far. I have watched lives being changed before the pandemic and have seen people use these same ideas to bring a sense of more peace in their lives in the midst of COVID-19! I myself have been experiencing 2020 and its stress and pressures with a strength and resilience that has carried me in peace and a sense of well-being quite opposite of how I’ve experienced stress and uncertainty in the past. I invite you to learn what I am passing forward to help you revolutionize your life as well!!
“I am proposing to you that this year can be a journey of understanding and freedom that could change the way you view life and leave you with more calmness and peace than you ever imagined or experienced before, during, and after this pandemic!!”
So let me start with this to see if you are a likely candidate to benefit from investing in reading this blog for the next year. Even before the pandemic, did you struggle with any of the following characteristics: worry, anxiety, uncertainty, stress, low self-esteem (or shame, which can be seen as low self-esteem on steroids!), control or lack thereof, busyness, distractions (even addictions), negativity, anger, or depression? Have you experienced only one of these qualities or do you experience several and can’t seem to find the connection they have to one another? What impact has your experience of COVID-19 had on the above characteristics? I am proposing to you that this year can be a journey of understanding and freedom that could change the way you view life and leave you with more calmness and peace than you ever imagined or experienced before, during, or after this pandemic!!
I have a deep and personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and this was undergirding my experience of developing these materials and applying them in my own life. I have found that the connection I have longed for with Him all these years has blossomed in applying and practicing these concepts. I see Him in a different light and I see His perspective of me quite differently too. You may or may not weave a belief in God through your own personal story as you journey through this blog. Those who do will find an easier unfolding of these ideas within the foundation of their experience. Those of you who don’t can also benefit as you apply what does make sense to you. You have the opportunity to customize the material to what helps you. The posts are done in a sequential, systematic way so I have numbered each post to help you stay in order.
So if you are up for the challenge of gaining tools and insight to change your experience of these uncertain times, hold on because blessing is on the way!
Let’s start the next post with an exploration of the role of stress in your life!
Blessings to you in your journey toward freedom,
Shari
